Testing

HIV is a blood test and is always confidential and free. Public Health of Agency of Canada guidelines states a waiting period of 15-20 days – and with no potential re-exposure – to get an accurate HIV test result. This is for the 4th generation tests that are currently used by Alberta Health Services.  It takes up to 10 days to produce your blood work result. There is limited availability in Edmonton for POC/Rapid Testing at this time.
