Volunteering is a Work of Heart!
The willingness of volunteers to partner with HIV Edmonton in our mission to make life better for people living with, or affected by HIV and AIDS, will always be a source of encouragement to our team!
Volunteering is more than the giving of your time; it is the exchanging of experiences.
- Volunteering is an opportunity to learn more about HIV and AIDS.
- Gain a greater understanding of the social issues that surround HIV AIDS.
- Meet individuals in the community that are doing HIV AIDS work both locally and globally.
- Help build community.
- Give back to the community.
- Enrich your CV with meaningful community involvement.
Volunteering with us can look like a few different things:
- Leading HIV education sessions with our Prevention & Education team
- Helping with Street Outreach
- Assisting our nurse during STBBI Testing events
- Tabling at events around Edmonton to help raise awareness about HIV
- Doing administrative tasks like data entry
- Putting together safer sex supplies & harm reduction supplies
- And so much more
We will always try our best to accommodate volunteers in whatever capacity we can!
