Conversation Café for Women
Sunday, 31 January 2021 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
HIV Edmonton is excited to present an online Freestyle Conversation Café on Sunday, January 31st from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm for women who identify as or belong to the African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) communities in Edmonton. This café aims to engage ACB women in a dialogue that will educate and empower them on CHABAC program science value; Anti-black racism; pertinent to ACB communities, health and well-being.
CHABAC is a national network of organizations, individuals and other stakeholders who are dedicated to responding to issues related to HIV and AIDS in Canada’s African, Caribbean and Black communities. The CHABAC PSM is an unapologetic interpretation of Program Science through an African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) lens. It presents a program science model that is shaped by the lived experience of ACB communities and agencies charged with supporting them
Through storytelling, ACB women will share their understanding of the ACB values and how it impacts the prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections in their communities. The stories shared will be useful in aiding individuals and organizations serving ACB communities in Canada to develop culturally appropriate programs and resources for African Caribbean Black communities in Canada.
Although we’re meeting online, we’d love to share a meal with you! So, we are happy to offer gift cards from Skip the Dishes for registered attendees. Kindly use the link provided below to register for the event and feel free to send this invitation to anyone in your network who may be interested.
